Life Sling

I can tell you that I have a similar situation on my 331, and I just use the two velcro strips to hold the life sling on. So far, it has worked great. I don't think that there is so much weight that you have to worry about attaching all three strips. However, if I end up losing the life sling, I will adjust that theory.

Life Sling Options

One option you may want to consider is a sunbrella cover. It not only provides a secure two-point connection but it will also protect the vinyl life sling case from the sun and the resulting deterioration. They are ugly enough when they are new...you should see them after 3 years of sun. The chandlery on this site sells them in a bunch of sunbrella colors. Second and most important, always have the bitter end of the life sling line secured to a stanchion or cleat on the boat. You don't want to be doing that in the middle of a man overboard situation. Worst yet, you don't want watch every thing float away because you forgot to tie it off.

A Fix

I just used the two upper straps on the upper horizontal rail. Then I used a short piece of line around the lower rail to accept the lower Velcro strap. Worked fine; but be sure to fasten the tail of the tow rope to the stern cleat on one side of the other.
