I'm considering replacing the forward turnbuckles on my lifelines with pelican clips. I am currently in a slip with a short pier and it's a hard spot to position the boat bow out, so we're climbing aboard over the lifelines just aft of the bow pulpit. Is there any problem with having pelican clips at both ends?Tom Wootton

Quik release pin

I just replaced the pin with one that has a push button release (about $15). Works great. The motivation was the kids wanting to jump off the bow.

Short pier problem

I had the same predicament. It's still going to be a bit inconvienient for you gassing up, loading coolers, etc. Also, it was hard for me to get spring lines set up bow-in. Have you tried raising the rudder for bow- out? Worked great for me. Scott S/V Hello Dolly
