I am looking to add a lower lifeline to my Hunter 255 around the cockpiit area. I dont have lower lines and straps or padded webbing I think would be ideal to expand the room in the cockpit by allowing people to sit on the sides and have a backrest. Has anyone seen this before? I have not been able to find anything like this and if I cant I will just add lines and put pads on them but it seems like a good idea to me. If a place exists that make them please let me know.

To add extra lifelines you would need to upgrade your stations to accept them. I don't know that modification of existing is possible. I had none on my old boat. The lines ended at the beginning of the cockpit. I added a stern pulpit which allowed them to be run further back but were single. The store here sells lifeline cushions in many colors. First I'd focus on getting things run and decide if it is worth it. Maybe post a photo of your cockpit for some ideas? SC

My 25.5 has the brackets ready to accept a second row of life lines in the cockpit area only. I will have the lines made up and then search for 3 ft cushions. My top lines have 4.5ft cushions on them already.

Not sure how the 25.5 is set up, does it have a stern rail? If so could you just use the same diameter stainless steel tubing from the stern rail to the closest set of stanchions? you could use some fittings to make the connections. A picture would help.
