I have an 85 pound dog and no swim step so I am going to put up netting on the life lines. OK to lace it on rather than tie off each webbing at top and bottom and then maybe tie off every two of three feet as a back up? I get the issue of the single line lacing breaking and then the whole thing fails, but is it necessary to separatly secure each webbing top and bottom?

I don'r see any problem with that approach

every three or four meshes take a round turn or a clove hitch. Get a net makers needle to carry your twine and the job will be much easier.
