Sure it's a sailing topic

I have enough time for the people who need some handyman work done by someone they can depend on showing up- and trust. Other than that, I proof read the World Book Encyclopedia for the publishers.:Liar:
Amen to finding folks you can trust! That's why I do all the work on my boat.

...'cuz the "whadda I do after I 'retire' from work" answer is:

sailing

You guys who have retired can go sailing but on a fixed income can you afford my 80 dollars per hour home repair rate?

Jim has been a big part of this board almost as long as I've been reading it, and trust me, when he announces his retirement it's as sailing-related as anything posted.

I do understand your point though, and while I also like the forums to be on-topic I don't want us to lose our connection to others in the community.

I think it fair to say that we all have a good chance to live 25 to 30 years past retirement age(65). But consider what inflation has done in the past thirty years and expect the same for the next thirty.

Thanks Everyone...

Geez, I've been working my fanny off for last few days. Joan basically retired last May and has been producing "honey do lists" faster than I can complete.

We are planning to sell our house and move into one of those retirement communities. By next fall, we are headed south with the boat under us and explore. We have no plans as to where we are going other than south...
For as long as our bodies will allow, we plan to sail sail sail. We are going to stay in the DC area, we really love the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River area. It is just a wonderful area to sail in.

Warren, We are taking Peggie sailing on Sunday and then to the boat show together on Monday. She is staying at our house...

It is time to retire from a Monday to Friday grind, that I've been living since I was 12. I want the freedom to do those things I enjoy - whatever that means....

Go Live Life...
