The name is a good clue. If recreational sailing is a hedonistic pursuit (and I say it is), then Libertine, is to the extreme.

Classic sailboat racing is big in New England. For 25 years or more, a new class of boats that combine the beauty of classic boat design with modern performance, have been called the Spirit of Tradition, class. They race (all handicap, natch) alongside century old boats.

You're fast! Tough without seeing the sleek house and tell tale 3 ports. I saw Libertine last season and from a distance, I thought it was some sort of one design or class, from a bygone era. That is a pretty boat in the water.

But up close, the Spirit 46 (Spirits smallest sailboat) is easy to tell. All day sailer. 46'3" on deck and a slender 9'3" of beam. And light at about 10,000 lbs. disp.

The details on Spirit yachts are so fine. We've got nothing on the Brits when it comes to craftsmanship.

There is a bit larger boat cruising down here that looks very similar, Spirited Lady. When she first appeared, I asked her owner, a British lady, when she was built expecting something around 1930. To my surprise she was built just a few years ago, and even more surprising was her underbody; fin keel and spade rudder just like those you guys posted. Coulda knocked me over with a feather!

i prefer the 'no life line' look of bamboozal. they are going to be tender. moving forward on the windward side , the fence sure will get in the way.
i sure do like skinny girls.

Somebody on another forum pointed out this boat is not Libertine. The house doesn't extend past the mast as Libertine. You make me realize, it has no life lines either...

Pretty boat, what is it? Anybody know?
