I also will someday need some parts for my winches. Lewmar was kind enough to supply the designs and I figure when the time comes I'll use one of the companies out there that do 3d printing.
I found one source in Palma de Majorca that had many older Lewmar parts, also Lewmar UK.
Good luck.

OK...........
So basically lewmar itself was no help at all. I guess it was silly of me to expect that they would support a basic product like their winchs. How hard could it have been to produce spares for folks, store them in a closet somewhere and produce when needed. don't get me started on how these plastic pieces could simply be saved electronically and a shop could produce might be expensive but better than having to discard your otherwise good winch.
Did a search and crowleys in Chicago had some of the pieces needed tip of the hat to Vincent who works there good guy!!
Didn't someone somewhere save any of this stuff??????????????

I'm guessing in 36+ YEARS that what was saved was used by folks who needed the parts. I don't see any company being financially able to carry ALL the spares for ALL their discontinued products forever.
As I said, Lewmar will gladly send you the designs for any part they no longer supply and having them made up for you would probably be cheaper than paying Lewmar to store innumerable parts for 30+ YEARS.

Yeah i hear what you are saying!!!
When i talked to the guy at lewmar yesterday in their customer service dept. he said nothing about suppling designs!!!!
OK if you are not going to be expected to have parts then you should be a good aoutomatic supplier of support to get the friggen job DONE!!!!

Your reference to winchspares was a good one the guy there is knowledgeable and has parts
prices are in pounds and expensive
Crowleys shpped the same day on the parts they had and were reasonable good folks there

If you are looking for wearing parts like pawls and springs they are the same as more current winches e.g. Lewmar cat no. 19700100 service kit which contains a selection of pawls, springs, keys etc.

On my '83 winches the only exterior plastic part that is likely to wear out are the caps on the top and I figure they would be easy to make if you had to.
