West Marine Catalog has some information
The West Marine 2001 Catalog has most of your answers. Look up in the index under winches and look for your Lewmar. It suggest the right oil and other great stuff for maintaintence. Also, I find that a lot of information on almost any subject, abeit not in as much detail as a text or other manuel on any given subject, but is a great for starter information and then you can take it from there. If your winch seems dry it probably because it is. Don't put it under use until you take it apart and re-oil it, etc. Fairwinds, Art
