Lewmar vs Anderson??

I am going to purchase new winches and would like feed back on Lewmar and Anderson. I am going to buy standard Lewmar 8 aluminum or Anderson 10 stainless. The Anderson's are about $50.00 less expensive. I do not mind spending the money if it makes a difference in quality.Any opinions are welcome

Have both (+)

We have basic single speed Lewmars on our mast for the main and jib halyards, and Andersen 2-speed/self-tailers (40s) for the genoa sheets. Both are quality winches. Simply a matter of when we had them installed (did the mast first). Andersen has a good trade-in deal (I think it's still going on)--I got $90 apiece back from them for my genoa winches.Fair winds, Bill

andersons are great!

We changed out our for anderson and never looked back the stainless anderson 40 selftailer is a wonderful winch. the friction on the drum is great and they are easier to use than the old lewmars.
