Lewmar ports leak

Has anyone ever replaced either the gaskets on the OEM Lemar metal body ports or the dogs? I have a 1990 37.5 legend and the gaskets are old, and i tightened the "dogs", but now the rain water leaks through them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

yes....I have replaced all my gaskets....you buy new ones from your lewmar supplier and its easy........if your in a pinch...you can use vasiline between the lense and the gasket to help stop the water......untill your new gaskets come in

How do the new gaskets attach to the metal body? Are they held on by adhesive. Do you issues with water leaking through the center of the latches?

a liitle adhesive...........then just pressed into a slot...it comes in a kit....
if your latches are leaking...there are replacement washers for that...

the shop that I use here (the rigging shop) are very helpfull in looking up all the parts...
you need to find a supplier that is knowledgable in getting you the parts instead of selling you a new port..

I replaced all the gaskets and lenses (they were crazed on my 430....8 of them) last year...it was not expensive..but well worth it

My lenses are crazed, too. There is a parts store online, here at the Hunter forum. What year is your boat, and what model?
