I have a set of Lewmar 42ST winches and need a pair of upper crown plates, the gripper jaws have corroded away.Any thoughts ??

I went to Lewmar in Guilford Ct. and had no luck,they sent there old winch parts to a company in Florida. Have a call in to them=Open Mon.-Fri.

you may have your best luck in the UK..... a company called Winch Spares they have a lot of old lewmar parts........the stuff is pricey but they will have what you need www.winchspares.com try them and cut through the chase.....

Yeah.... I checked around a bit too... looks like Lewmar's a dead end.... you might checkMinney's Yacht Surplus for a lead.... the have a lot of old winches on the shelves.....
BTW.... in case you haven't found this link... it's a collection of diagrams of all lewmar winches.... maybe you can find some interchangeable parts....it's a bit of a stab in the dark, good luck.
