Lewmar 16 - need help

I have a Lewmar #16ST on the cabin top of my 1983 H34 that has a broken ratchet gear. I've called several chandelries and I may not be able to get the part I need (circa 1983). Can any of you suggest a place to get a fair price on a new winch or even an old #16ST? Thanks, Joe Mullee

Open the unit up. I'll wager the pawl is gummed up and needs a good shot of WD 40. Hope this helps, Jim.

I have them!

I had an h34 for ten years and every time I broke a part I purchased two so I had spares. I no longer own the boat but I believe I have a new spare gear and an entire spare winch in my basement. Post your email or contact ddaaryl@yahoo.com

Confirmed Availability

I sent you a private email. I just located two brand new gears in my basement. Get me a shipping address and you'll have one. My original gear (the large brass looking one) broke in half when one of the pawls got stuck closed and the second one made uneven force on the gear causing it to break. I still have one of these winches available for parts if you need it.
