Aage Nielsen was at the height of his design career in the 50's and 60's. Not as well known as some of his contemporaries, his designs were (and are) popular, and highly respected for their sailing performance.
There are several of his designs sailing along my coast. He drew a number of 40+' centerboard (see winch on house), yawls and sloops, like Levera.
As a young designer he submitted a plan to Rudder magazine in 1925. A quote in the magazine about this design said, "not an extreme craft in any way".
That quote might explain why his boats are still popular today.
