Boat is pretty much done except for some warranty work on new saildrive which should happen on 1/7. Admiral is wanting some davits..we’re doing a cycle trip in June from Basel Switz to Rotterdam along the Rhine. So have to train for that. After that its sailing up north..

Convert more power boaters to sailors!
I feel so bad for those people as I sail by them at the gas pumps!
They really have to leave to dock more, there is a great big ocean out there.

Basel is the most picturesque city I've been to and Rotterdam and Brussels are great. That should be a great trip and I envy you biking it!

Happy New Year everyone! My electrical panel doesn't work right now, and neither do any of my nav lights. Just got a much needed Christmas check, so I think I know what it's gonna be spent on ;)

While I can relate to Les, my resolution is to see a lot more of the Jersey Shore this year ;) … from our sailboat! Hopefully, we'll find Capt Robbie on a trip north!

The projects have piled up on the shelves, its time to start finishing what I haven't even started
Remove tach/hr meter and repair hr meter display (per instructions found online)
Demast and inspect all rigging and restep
Install PSS Dripless Packing
Cutless Bearing (might as well while I have the shaft out for dripless packing install)
Service the winches
Convert lighting to LED (At least all the interior lights)
Repair the just started to leak in the fall Port side portlight
Install external Balmar voltage regulator & thinking about serpentine belt and pulleys
Install the optional gas ram in the boom vang purchased in the fall
And the in the spring wax, paint prep boat for launch
Take that trip up to Georgian Bay / North Channel
And with great hope, spend much more time on the boat and sailing
Race at least 7 races this year

and oh yah

Happy 2019 to the SBO staff and its members!!!!

Must re-stitch the foresails' UV strips and reinforcements. Even with cheap thread for the meantime.

Get through my projects and updates early in the season and sail, sail, sail...
Finally get rid of that flaking bottom paint
install new battery bank, 4 lifeline XT31's from boat show
install new 70 anp charger / 2000w inverter and rework the electric :yikes:
get new larger alternator and external regulator from Mainsail
install the new radar w/mount and deck light on the mast
install the new sheets for jib, outhaul and vang that I got cheap
put up and use the new crisp sails I just picked up :dancing:
find those new anchorages and just go for days at a time....

I resolve to sail on a few different boats - I want to see what the smarter / faster skippers know that I don't.

@TomY - tucked shirts and shaving is for when you're being paid. I'm not good enough to be paid to sail, so ^&(# them!

Wow @jeff356 almost sounds like your total refitting the boat. I only hope you get to do that SailSailSail bit before you run out of daylight at the end of summer.

Integrating the new charger / inverter and adding the new battery bank is the one I really need to investigate and plan for integration/rework into current setup. We anchor out a lot for days at a time so it will help with generator run time.
Glad the Admiral likes a clean, safe, setup boat, makes it easier.

Here is my commissioning list from early 2018 that I posted and I did not do too bad, so there is hope...

On my list this year...
1. Install the new Rocna 20, will sleep better DONE
2. Install the new Campbell Sailor Prop DONE
3. Install new high water alarm (woops, at least I bought it!)
4. Install new LED deck light & hopefully radar (moves to this year)
5. Wire in new network connection to allow AIS to Axiom Chart plotter DONE
6. Rebuild raw water pump and replace impeller DONE
7. Replace hoses / check lube thru hulls DONE
8. Rewire starter lead to solenoid (yeah, will get to that)
9. Add in a couple more Camframo Sirocco fans (work great) DONE
10. Sand / scrape / paint bottom 2 gallons WM CPP BOGO free ! DONE
11. Buff & wax hull and top sides DONE
12. Wash and seal Bimini and dodger with 303 and install DONE
13. See if I can mount solar on Bimini as we like to stay out on the hook although have 4.2kw generator (when needed)
