Yeah, that was a sneaky way to make you click on our annual New Year's Resolution thread.

It's a new year with a clean slate, so what are your boat goals for 2019? New accessories, a major project, or just a little cleaning and a lot of sailing?

Share your plans here and Happy New Year!

Fix that which needs to be fixed.
Add that which needs to be added.
Remove that which is no longer needed/used.
Go somewhere I haven't been to yet.
Or, just go somewhere.

Happy New Years to the officers and crew of the S.S. Sbo. And to the fine passengers of this fine ship.

Work and sail on my boat (period) That would make 2019 a more fulfilling year for me.

Happy New Year to all my friends here at SBO. My all of you get to do the same.

Finish putting my barn together so I can get my project boat inside to be able to work on it no matter the weather outside.

Phil at the top of this thread touched on my sailing resolution: plan my summer of 2019 for more day sails as well as my annual cruise, more messing around on the boat but also doing a better job cleaning up the mess I always leave below and ditto for the top sides and deck after I tie her up at the slip.
Happy New Year to all the posters who have made SBO a pleasure to read in 2018.

Well, bought back a 21footer I have owned off and on since 1985. It's on a trailer in my yard, with hurricane damage. My big boat is in her slip, also with hurricane damage.

Neither has major damage, but my recovery from back surgery has slowed me down a lot. But my resolve is to get both boats repaired and sailing, and to take a trip to Florida with the trailer boat, for a thing called "The BEER Cruise" in Pensacola in June. I've done that 6 times now, several times in each boat. Hope I can manage it, and do lots more sailing this year, I've now only been able to just get aboard at the dock 4 times since last February. Tired of looking at boats from shore !!

I turned 65 this year, and while I don't plan to retire soon, we spent more time on the boat including nearly a continuous month of vacation time.

Next season, we'll likely do the same but not go as far from home. It was great to visit Southern NE. I always find, the farther from home we go, the less miles we sail. That's great occasionally, but the more I sail my miles, the less I enjoy 'moving a boat', mostly under power.

We may go North this year with the extra time. I'm not a big fan of the added fog in that area... We'll see,...

My wife snapped this photo of me sometime on vacation.

Looking at it, maybe my resolution should be to get some sailing specific clothing?

If you see me on the water, this is how I'll likely be dressed: Paint splattered - covered in dog hair - fleece, a tattered cotton shirt (I like old stuff), and blue jeans (or shorts if it's hot).

So in 2019, at the very least,...I'm going to tuck my shirt in.

More sailing, less procrastinating about it. Showing more appreciation to the Admiral for all she does to keep me happy and productive, plus she is an amazing seamstress. Less stress about work things that I have no control over. Continued lack of crass or mean comments to newbies on this and other web forums. I appreciate that all are welcome here and that for the most part newbies like I once was are treated with respect. Thank you all, and have a safe wonderful new year full of adventurous safe sailing.

@TomY May I suggest you just get some of those "UnTuck" shirts. They are designed to be waist free.
