Hello,
As we prepare for our lessons in April/May, we have been reading and browsing the internet for any helpful information.
Does anyone know of a good site offering on line lessons free. And also looking for photo's of a 1974 Catalina 27, we have found some but still looking for more.

Winter is a good time to knock out a Boater Safety course for you and your crew, too. Not sure about availability in your neck of the woods, but I do get a $25 discount off my insurance premium (which paid for the course). Good luck boat hunting.

There's also some pictures at sailboatlistings.com. Just select the Catalina brand and there will be a lot of C27's there. But the sailingtexas site does have more.

The video section is pretty good too, pivot turns, quick stop MOB etc., nice of them to provide such resources.

Hi and thanks for the helpful information. I have viewed photo's here, but hope more will be available. The boat I'm looking at has a VolvoPenta MD1 inboard deisel engine in good running condition? I have no experience in these engines eg. maintaining etc. but understand they are very good and can run along time.
There is much to learn...for me basic sailing, boat types, all the theory, but the challenge is exciting!
When I read various threads, you can sense the excitement from all you experienced sailors and look forward to being part of the lifestyle.

Ron, what kind of photos are you in need of. One of the guys at our club just bought a 1974 C 27 in pretty rough shape that he plans to restore. He\s right next door to us so I can get some pics for you pretty quick if you're stuck.
