i am getting ready spinniker gear for my hunter27 1980// would like to make a spinniker pole over the winter does anyone know how long the spinniker pole should be//any help would be a great help tom

Whisker Pole Lenght

PHRF allows 1.4 times the length of your J dimension for the whisker pole. The J is measured from the base of the mast to the attach point for tack of your headsail. It's best that you make your pole adjustable... so that you can vary it's length as needed based on the point of sail you are sailing (using more length when you go farther down wind). Suggest you take a look at how the Forespar product is made and do something along those lines. Cheers, Rodger
