Hello everyone.
It’s been awhile, but you always have great answers.
1st. What I need help with is:
About a foot long section of my 2nd reef, line, is frayed. I decided to replace both lines. Does anyone know the lengths. I didn’t get a reply from HunterOwners.com.
My plan is to sew and heat shrink the new line, butt to butt, to the old line then pull it through the sail, blocks, deck organizer and into the cockpit.
2nd. The latest addition to my boat:
I’ve just about completed installation of a whisker pole track, car and all of the assorted blocks, cam cleats, lines and the pole.
It’s easy to find the right track, if you are willing to drop the mast for the installation. Of course that will set you back several times as muck as all of the parts!
Otherwise a bit of ingenuity (provided by Rusty R.at Harken, via a great manager at Westmarine, Marina Del Rey, Jose B.). I hope all of you have a parts contact as exceptional as Jose.
Anyway, all that remains for me to install is the Forespar pole chock and rig a preventer. Sailing downwind will be something that Mer-Sea Beaucoup will be able to accomplish, with some efficiency, rather than long downwind tacks made necessary by the B&R rig.
Fair winds, Captains and thanks for your anticipated thoughts about the reefing lines.
Diablito
