I am looking for the length of the forestay, pin to pin. Hunter says it should be 46' 2 1/2". The one that came off was 44' 10". The boat was not in sailing condition at the time I purchased her so I don't have a baseline of performance to compare with. The problem we have is with interference between the new hood furler and the furler cutout in the deck. The angle of the forestay is suspect because of the length. Thanks, Randy

Factory spec...
straight out of my owner's manual that covers 35 & 35.5 is forestay lenght of 44'9 1/2" with a wiresize of 9/32. Don't know that a little extra lenght would effect the "angle". Is it possible that the "tang" (I believe is the term) that the forestay is attached to under the furler is missing? The tang attaches to the headstem (again, not positive of the term) down in the anchor locker. Since 44'10" came off, sounds like the 44'9 1/2" I quoted with a little streach.
