Legend 45 Specs and repairs

1) I just bought a Legend 45, and was wondering where I could get the original design specs. showing the centers of effort of the various sails and center of lateral resistance of the hull/keel/rudder. I've noticed some weather helm when using the jib on the roller furling, but I have not used any other foresails. Does anyone know where to get these design plans? I called Marlow-Hunter and all archived designs are "lost" according to them.
2) Has anyone gone deeper on the draft and added a bulb or winged keel?
3) Has anyone gone deeper on the rudder or changed the pivot point(adding a bit to the front of the rudder)? It seems like there is a bit too much rudder behind the center of rotation noticed when the boat heals in a bit of a breeze.
My thoughts are to lighten the boat up a bit but retain the same or slightly better righting moment, make a more efficient keel and rudder. Ease the forces required for rudder movement for the auto pilot( the bracket for the "L'' pivot ripped off the inner hull in a breeze).
4) I was also wanting to add about 3 feet aft for a swim platform(sugar scoop), and perhaps move the CG of the boat back 4"?
Any thoughts with this?
Thanks for any help.
:)

I dropped the rudder out of the hull, and two people had a hard time lifting it out of the water onto the dock, it feels like it weighs over 200lbs! The pivot seems to be about 15% from the leading edge -thus I assume the heavy steering? It would be about 25% if I add 3.25 inches to the leading edge. Should I add more than 3.25 inches?

Crude rudder mods

Here are a few pics of the rudder mods... using redwood 2x4's with a lot of grinding. One 2x4 was on the leading edge, sideways, from top to bottom. I'll check out the helm balance and rudder balance to see if there is too much area % in front of the rotational axis - I kept the entry very blunt to reduce stall. Maybe it will work - can't be any worse than the chopped off flat tip of the original! This is really just an experiment anyway, as I discovered there is quite a bit of water in the rudder foam adding to it's tonnage! The original rudder pivot was about 19% from the leading edge at the top and about 10% at the bottom... The newly modded rudder is about 25.6% at the top and about 19.5% at the bottom.

The original glass wasn't wetted out properly and had delamination between the fibers. I also put glass across the entire top from one side to the other to encapsulate the bracket. I also added a fillet to taper the loading to the hull evenly at the back of the bracket- and unseen - is epoxy poured behind the bracket to fill the void between the hull and bracket to unify the bond and add contact area( I glassed the bottom first and let cure):). I hope this works.

Re: Crude rudder mods

I was out in 12knots wind with the main and roller jib up. Only a tiny bit of weather helm, that some people might not like if they like the wind to steer the boat but for steering to the tell tails, it's awesome and very easy on the autopilot now! :)
Out in 18 knots wind.... light weather helm! Not too much, seems to be close on rudder size and shape.
