So unfortunately this season just did not go so easy for us, we fouled the prop wrapped a line around the shaft at full reverse and bent the strut and shaft. My question is, can this be repaired?

Thank you in advance

It can absolutely be repaired. The strut and shaft will need to be replaced, and while it looks like a big job, it should be straightforward. I'll send you a PM with my phone number.

Both can be repaired by a really competent machine shop BUT the cost of having a high quality shop do he repair would match or exceed the cost of the new parts. Southeastern Foundries in NC made a lot of Hunter struts. I needed one back in 2008 and they knew exactly what I needed and shipped one out very quickly. Good folks to deal with. There is a location in Alabama but I don't think that they do struts.

The shaft is a straight piece with nothing special except for the standard taper for the propeller fit. Usually the forward end is plain. The length and diameter are needed but these can be easily found. Ya might want to go with a material upgrade since it is not too much more for the upgraded material. Nitronic 50 or 60 is a great material for prop shafting.

Yes Yes Yes.

No idea of your skill level @Milton1979. As has been said, it is a parts replacement project. The strut is straightforward.

The bent shaft is a replacement issue. I would consult a local prop shop. They will have shafts and can assist with the work needed to prep the shaft for your prop and the connection to your transmission.

You should inspect all the parts from the prop to the transmission. Bending the shaft may have affected other parts, such as cutlass bearings, shaft log, couplers, transmission etc.
