I know many of these boats had leak problems on the port side around the galley. I have resealed the portlight but i still have a stream/drip of brown water coming in. It must be trqveling through some rotting wood to arrive so. Brown. Is there a typical leaking point? I want to nipthis befor the decks are noticable rotten from the damage. They are not as of yet.

Thanks! Jamie

Jamie:

I believe that many of these boats had issues with water entering through the area where the furler went through the deck and into the anchor locker area.

This typically caused delamination of the fore deck. I don't know if this is your problem but you may want to see how well sealed at is.

Where is the brown water coming out? Is it below or at the deck level or higher?

Already dealing with that problem. Cutting out the old wood from inside the cabin. Going to fill that whole front area under furling line plate with something synthetic and waterproof and tbe rest with plywood again. This issue is over the icebox. The water is dripping from the bottom of the portlight frame and collecting on the floor. Since the water is brown. It means its comi g from above the frame (sealed up like a space suit) or something above the window. Right?
