Gail Force's holding tank finally gave up! Can anyone please e-mail me the replacement part number and supplier for a plastic tank. It appears to be a straight forward job, but if anyone has some advice, it will be appreciated. Fair winds Bill Roos bill.roos@us.cgeyc.com

Ronco Plastics...

They make TOP quality, thick-walled roto-molded tanks, and have more than 400 shappes and size--over 100 of which are non-rectangular--to choose from..and for a VERY reasonable price. I'd bet they have one that will fit your space. And you can spec your own fittings sizes and locations, to be installed by them when the tank is made. Their catalog is on their website at: http://www.ronco-plastics.com They're great people to work with, and a tank from them will cost you about 1/4 of what it would cost to have a custom welded tank Btw...this is at least the 3rd time in a week I've posted this same information. Doesn't ANYbody else skim through the daily posts to see what topics are being discussed? Or check the archives before posting to see if your questions have already been answered????

2nd. vote for Ronco

Recently bought a tank from Ronco and couln't have been more pleased with the quality and service. I increased the size of mine by moving things around a bit also.

A little more help.

Click on the link below. But Peggy's frustration(it did show Peggy) is warranted. We who spend way too much time on the HOW site see a lot of duplication. The "Forum Archives" is really easy to search.

Larger Tank Excellent Idea

That was an EXCELLENT IDEA that Colin had about replacing the tank with a larger one. It doesn't take long for the thing to fill up and incremental cost-wise it would be very little, especially when the whole job is taken into consideration. A question I have is what does one use for replacement tie-down straps?

Buy or make new tie down straps

Home Depot has a full range of tie downs...or you can make them yourself very easily using lawn chair webbing, a grommeter, and a tie down "buckle."

Many thanks to everyone who responded and apologies for frustrating Peggy, because I was hoping she would respond. I have been tracking her messages and appreciate the fact that she is the real guru when it comes to this topic. What I was asking was if anyone knew the part number for a custom manufactured tank. I believe that at least half the L35's out there had a tank replacement and I wanted to order the tank before driving down to the club next time. The manufacturer I spoke to wanted the dimensions and I was hoping someone would either have that or the part number for the specific tank. Sorry you missed the core of my question.

Unfortunately, there's only one way to do it...

There is no "one size fits all Legend 35s" (or any other boat) ...because Hunter--all boat builders--restyle boats and redesign spaces with each new model year...sometimes in mid-model year. So a tank that fits another model year Legend 35s won't necessarily fit your '87 Legend...nor is the tank on the current Legend 35 (if there is one) likely to fit either. The only thing you can do is measure the dimensions of the space yourself, and go through the catalog to find the closest match, making sure you leave enough room for the hoses and fittings. Then you supply a copy of the catalog drawing, with the fitting locations and sizes indicated on it, to the mfr.
