My O"day daysailer is about 40 years old and it leeks( slow drip, drip) where the handle is that pulls up the centerboard. How can I prevent that, I put a rubber washer in between handle and boat, but it still goes drip, drip!? I do not know what originally was there to prevent this !

Fix it

It sounds like what you need is a handle gasket. They are available through D&R marine at (508) 644-3001. The part cost only about 5 bucks. D&R has a complete listing of their parts list on Oday links. Now the bad news- Our Daysailer has the gasket in place- but we still get the same drip, drip, drip. We think it is kind of endearing. I hope that this has been helpful. Firefly and crew

Leaky Centerboard Handle

You should probably fashion your own washer using about a 2 inch square by 1/4" thick rubber to fit over the CB shaft. Apply marine grease and tighten 3 bolts on pressure plate until leak stops, and handle moves relatively easy. It worked for me

Leaky Centerboard

Go the National Daysailor Associations Web-Site. Under the items for sale, one of the fleets has a suppy of centerboard caskets that they will ship you for a minimal fee.
