I've got a 1997 h40.5 and the cabin lighting is mostly either a recessed light that uses a G4 bulb plugged in horzontally or a rotating and tilting surface mount lamp with straight sides that also uses a G4 bulb but is plugged in vertically.

I am interested in trying out a white Sensibulb in both of these sockets. I don't have a picture of them to post nor do I have the dimensions of the fixtures.

Do any of you with a mid-90's Hunter that have these style lights know if the Sensibulb will fit in the socket?

The Sensibulb website shows the LED installed in a dome-style light and a reading light with a flared bell-shaped housing.

Rich, I believe that Rick Dinon is using LED's in some of his cabin lighting. He might still be in Catalina, as I left on Sunday and he was staying for a few more days. He may miss your post, so you might want to send him an e-mail and find out what he is using.

Hi Rich! I replaced all the interior lights

on my H410 with LED's last year. I think we have the same kind of light fixtures as your 40.5, both the flat recessed with the 2 prong bulb and the rotating spots. I am very happy with them and reading light is good. It was not inexpensive but it's nice not to worry about turning a lot of lights on while on the hook. I also did my anchor light. That one is the Dr Led Aqua Signal 40 replacement. However,my paperwork on the bulbs I bought and where is on the boat in Maryland and I wont be down there until the weekend. Looking on the web I think they were from superbrightleds.com. I believe the recessed ones were replaced with the warm white G4 Lamps with High Power SMD LEDs http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/WLED-WHP6-D.htm. I cannot find the spot bulbs on there so maybe it was another site. Actually, it looks like this may be them, the G4 MR11's at http://www.doctorled.com/p26.htm I will be happy to provide the exact details when I get down to the boat. Regards! Bruce Mulford

Rich, I have a 2003 356 but I think the light fixtures are similar. I purchased a single sensibulb at a boat show and spoke with the sales person about that exact same issue. He told me it will fit but I probably would have to move the back reflector, which I did and it does fit. You need to play with the orientation so that both lights on the bulb aren't blocked by the cover. For the reading lights, it looks odd but works as well. The trick is getting the pins in the socket without bending the pins.

I've since replaced all of the overheads and most of the reading lights. The energy savings is well worth the effort.

Rich,
I tried them on mine.... They do not fit right. The ones above the desk, the galley and the Table, the sensibulb would not fit in, once you plug the connector, the assembly would not go in all the way and stayed at an angle, and outside the recess.
The problem is the that the heat sink finns slide into the holding clip fingers only half lenght. If the fingers would allow sliding all the length, they would fit better.
I have not contact them to see if there are diferent clips. I also think that if the connector is attached to the assembly with High temp Rtv instead of the clip, they will fit OK, but I have not tried that yet.
They neither fit the other light assys. the ones in the head and the berths. The connector is different (wedged) and have not found an adapter yet.

They are super bright, and fit perfect with the bayonet adapters on the Golden light assys.
