LectraSan bubbles

Peggie: Sometime back I wrote you giving up on my forward holding tank because of smell & I wanted a LectraSan anyway. I finally got around to pulling the tank, cleaning everything very well, replacing hoses, and installing the LectraSan. As it turns out, the holding tank DID have a leak (and the hoses were saturated as well to be fair). Well, I'm tickled pink about the LectraSan and my now odor-free boat. However, because of the vented loops in the system, each time I use the LectraSan a lot of air gets pushed out the LectraSan discharge. Is there anyway to get around this minor nuisance or did I hook up something wrong? The head system has the usual intake v-loop between pump and bowl, a v-loop between the head and the LectraSan, and a v-loop between the LectraSan and the thruhull (below waterline). Thanks for your thoughts, Mark

Vented loops aren't the culprits

Vented loops don't add air to a line through which liquid is being PUSHED, only to lines through which liquid is being PULLED. So they're NOT adding air each time the toilet is flushed. Yours is rare problem, but not unheard of...mostly only when the discharge thru-hull is near the waterline instead of lower on the hull, near the keel. And even then, it mostly only happens with VacuFlush toilets. What are your toilets? I don't know what you can do about it other than relocate the thru-hull low enough on the hull to give the bubbles time to dissipate before they reach the surface.
