I am considering installing a Lectra/San unit on my '86 H31. Has anyone out there done that, and if so, where did you put it, etc. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

In RI, there's prob'ly not much point in doing it
'Cuz all RI waters are "no discharge"...which means that toilet waste may only go into a holding tank that can only be emptied by pumpout. So unless you spend most of your time cruising outside the waters of RI, you won't get much use out of a Lectra/San.

I do most of my cruising outside RI waters. I cruise MA, LI Sound, & Conn mostly during the Summer, and hope to go South to FL/Bahamas (again) this winter. The laws vary in different states, but the way I look at it is whatever they are, using a Type 1 MSD is just plain better under any circumstances. By the way, I have your book, and it's very helpful.

Go for it...you'll love the freedom from holding tank maintenance. Follow the installation directions carefully and it will give you decades of odor-free, trouble-free service.
