leaky shroud chainplate and windows

Just purchased a 27 catalina and noticed a brown colored stain from under the port window in 2 places after a light rain. The shroud chainplate on the starboard side has a colorless water drip from the bolt. The window has been siliconed previously. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Toni

chainplates

Have just been through this problem with my chainplates. Solved the problem by lifting the small stainless plate where the chainplate enters the deck. Scraped out old sealer and replaced with a layer of new sealant. In Australia the best brand is Sikaflex. I'm sure you can get something similar where you are. Also scraped and sealed the screw holes for the plate. Hope this helps. Cheers from Hobart. Mark.
