Leaky Cockpit Rudder Post

Have a 1983 Cat 30 with a bad leak that occurs when rain water drips through the base of the rudder post that attaches to the emergency tiller.This drips down on the aft cushions inside and is a royal PITA.Since I would think this is a common problem for boats of this vintage is there a standard repair??Thanks.

Hi I had the same problem and just used a little caulking to seal around the bushing on the post and build a little ridge so the water that drains out from the aft lazzerett is directed to the cockpit floor ant not twards the post ,good luck
