I have a through hull at the waterline on the starboard side (midship) of my Hunter 26 that is leaking. This through hull is not shown in my ownwers manual. There is no acsess to a backing nut on the inside to tighten. Has anyone else had this prolem and where can I obtain a drawing of this.

Please contact me at iskagua@att.net

What's connected to that thru-hull?

If you don't know, follow that hose to find the other end of it. Or..whatever was connected to it may have been removed...for instance, plumbing to dump the holding tank overboard.

There's not likely to be any nut to tighten...most likely it needs to be rebedded (re-sealed using a bedding compound). Everything that's bolted/screwed or otherwise has hardware that penetrates fiberglass does eventually...some things more often than others.

For more info, search the archives for "bedding compounds"..."rebedding" or "installing" thru-hulls, stanchions, cleats....
