I have a 1985 26' Oday with a leak that is coming from the metal tubing that attaches to a 5/8" (??) reinforced hose. This is the metal tubing that connects to the bottom of the cockpit floor. The line to drop the keel comes up through this tube and into the cockpit. Is there a source for this tubing or do I just bend something up? I tried to stop the leak but the location is one of the toughest spots on the boat. Without having to haul the boat, any ideas??

Epoxy response

Hi Ed, I tried to use epoxy, but to no avail. The location of the leak makes getting to it a challenge all in itself. It is in a section between the engine compartment and the main cabin, right under my ladder. I took the steps apart, which gave me access to the floor behind the steps, but the framework runs directly on top of where the leak is. And you're right....you have to be gentle or end up rupturing what is left of the metal tubing. I am not close by a lift, so that is my other concern. For the present, I am running the bilge pump every other day which seems to keep things under control. But thanks for the response. No one else seems to have had this problem. Tom
