I have leakage some-where in my cabin/deck area amidships (this is a 37 Cutter). I plan to change portlights on the starboard side. Does anyone have similar problem? Did you solve it? How? Thanks

Lucky so far...

that my H37C ports do not leak. The rubber seals are still pliable and it looks like they have been resealed around the outside perimeter. No way of knowing if they were removed and sealed correctly. A couple have knobs missing, there are broken off pieces of spigot, and they generally look tacky. Starting next year we will begin replacing with S/S, see: http://www.newfoundmetals.com/

All we've seen

Joe, Last fall we purchased a 87 Hunter 37. During our search we saw several 37's both sloop & cutter. ALL had that problem, most on the starboard side,(We could tell by the sorry patch jobs). The guy we bought Regenero from had the best fix. He removed the plexiglas panel, cleared all caulk & adheisives and replaced them with a high quality silicone caulk. He did this at least 1 years ago 1998 and it looked great when we saw it. Good luck, The Doyles - S/V Regenero
