We have a 1995 Catalina MKII 36. Our portlights (opening ports on the slanted sides) are leaking. It is pretty obvious the gaskets surrounding the opening ports need replacing. Do we order these from Catalina or is there something from WEST? Love our boat, and these are the only leaks. Thanks. G&G

You might try this...

I coated the gaskets with silicon gease - kind used on scuba gear and pool equipment gaskets and it has stopped my leaks for over a year. I have a 95' 270 and suspect they are the orginal gaskets. For what it's worth....

C36 Portlights

G of Now You didn't mention the make of your portlights, but I assume that in a C36 of 1995 vintage they are Lewmars. 1. try the Lewmar website for help 2. try archives on this site from John Visser, he's great about relating his experience with his C36 3. try the C36.org website 4. try the related link to the C34 website. The C34s and C36s are very similar in mechanical and electrical systems. C36 folks use our C34 site and vice versa. The link goes to the message board and you can use the Find serach engine, and/or also go to the main 'site and use that separate search engine. Good luck, Stu Jackson C34 IA Secretary
