Leaking Hatch

Has anyone experienced a leaking forward openable hatch? My 16.5" square plastic one will need to be replaced soon; it's shot from age. Any suggestions for a source?

Replacement Hatch

Neil,I suggest upgrading the hatch, making sure to get one strong enough to withstand accidently stepping on it.I used a Lewmar low-profile hatch and have been very pleased with it. I found a new one on eBay at a good price. Take the cutout measurements on your boat before you go shopping. The major manufacturers make sizes which will fit without additional deck cutting.Dave Weir

When putting in the new hatch, what caulk or sealant is recommended for sealing it to the deck?

Hatch Caulk

Marine adhesive silicone. Tighten down the hatch enough to partially compress the caulk, then wait for the initial cure to take place, then tighten it down completely.
