The strength of the joint made in n-buena with Krazy glue is not much of an issue here.
If you look at the geometry of a 90 degree cut then joined, you will see there is a potential straight line pathway across that 90 degree joint for leakage. Take a 45 degree cut, or higher angle, then if there is a defect in that joint there is no straight line path breaching that joint.
I used to make custom O-rings for high vacuum seals - 90 degree cuts were known to not always work. Angled cuts were know to be notably more reliable.
