I recently purchased my Hunter 26.5 and have been spending time getting her cleaned up. While hosing down the deck, I was getting some water leakage into the front berth through the foot of the mast. Realizing that the mast will move slightly, is this something that I should learn to live with or do I need to lower my mast and recaulk the footing? Please let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks.

stop the leak

I am not familiar with the 26.5, but if you have a compression post under the mast it is important to keep it dry as well as keeping water from getting into ceiling core. If you don't every thing will turn into a sponge and will never dry out.
