Oday 20 orient
Hi - Just pulled our Oday 20 for winter. Noticed small amount of water in the bilge just forward of the keel during the summer months and tasted salty so I know it was not from the rain. Clean it out, but a week later a few more quarts. Could not locate source of leak. When we put the boat on the trailer for the winter, left some water in the bilge to find the leak. After the hull was dry for a few days, noticed water slowly (very, very) slowly dripping from the very forward part of the keel where it is attached to the hull. Was wondering if any one had a similar problem and what the fix was? Also wondering if I can clean up the area, put some 3M5200 on it, and then epoxy paint to try to seal leak? Any thoughts, suggestions, etc.? Have the winter to work on it. Thanks

I had a 3" lateral fisure crack at the aft end of my keel on my O'Day 20'
*First I hit with a wire brush on a drill and that cleaned it up sufficiently..Then drilled four 1/4" holes along the crack...

*I then sprayed the crack down with carbuerator cleaner ( its acetone ) to clean it..

* Then mixed some quick set epoxy resin ( Home Depot ) with some scissored up glass fibers. Globbed it on there and filled the holes and crack.. Let it set..

sanded it - I'm done... Easy as pie.. No water is getting in there... Cost me about 5 bucks..

Thanks Johan, I will work on it before launch. Hopefully I will actually find a crack when I wire brush it so I know the exact spot.
