I've just discovered this website and am excited to be able to ask other Hunter owners questions so please excuse me for showing up all the time in the forum. I have a '94 35.5 that has a leak around the mast into the cabin and drips on the table in heavy rainstorms. I tried recaulking around the mast, although I didn't remove the old caulk which I have since learned I should have, but it's still leaking. I've started putting a bowl on the table when I leave the boat but am worried that water is going somewhere else besides dripping into the cabin. Any suggestions short of removing the mast altogether? Also, my boat has no midships cleats and I'm considering the track cleats, by Selden I think, that are listed on this website. Anyone have any experience with them or other suggestions?

Try using some food coloring and pour a bucket of water around the mast, or other places you may suspect leakage. As for the track cleat, it works just fine and is simple to remove when sailing.
