i have seen an ad in good old boat magazine for an anchor line (poly. with sealed lead core) which eliminates the need for anchor chain. i have an o'day 22 and would like to hear from anyone with information on if this line would be appropriate/safe for use on my boat. MAN would i love to get rid of the mess created by that old chain! thanks bob p.s. yes, i still would intend to have an anchor at the end of it. a danforth.

You would still need some chain...
to stop the chafe of the line exterior sheath on the bottom, sand rocks, coral etc.

Hello... From fishing on Pacific gill netters... Lead line will NOT bend and roll into a tight anchor locker or deck hatch as will SS chain and braid... Also chain is to fall off on bottom and hold line off rocks and such to prevent chaffing... Cheers... Sean Herron.
