I have been thinking about adding a LAZY JACK system to our O'DAY 25. there seems tobe some diffrent kinds on the market. I have seen them by HARKEN, SHAEFER and EZ JACK. can anyone give me some advice on this?

If you are at all handy you can build your own easy enough. Plans are widely available on the internet. Goggle is your friend. sort of.

Go to Ebay and search for "nautos Lazy Jack". I don't work or own stock with this company but have been impressed with the quality and price. Cost at least half of the big name Lazy Jack systems. I plan on making my own version of the Ez Jack. It's nothing but rope, cheek blocks, hog rings and bungee cord.

Nautos.

I put Nautos lazy jacks on my Oday 27 this past summer. I can't say enough good about them or the service they provided. I also replaced a very worn out windex with a Windtec from them. The quality of everything was outstanding. And, I didn't save a little money, I saved a lot of money. Regardless, install lazy jacks. They are a boon to sail handling.

I wanted lazy jacks until I worked on raising and lowering a mast with a set. They were a real pain. I move to different lakes and need to keep the mast/boom items to a minimum to facilitate mast lowering/raising. That said-If you developed a set that would clip on and off easily it might be OK for someone that moves their boat to various lakes. On my 25' boat the main sail is not a problem and I solo sail a lot of the time.
