I'm in Sidney BC this week having my Lazy Cradle installed.
Have given up on the Ducthmen main sail flop.............
There is free wi-fi at the Serious Coffee Shop and fantastic breakfast casadellias.
The measurements have been taken so.....just waiting.
My mailsail was cleaned and repaired at Sail Care last month, top drawer job.

UK Halsey will turn my mainsail into a loose footed sail and some other modifacations......Ray, I will let you know how it turns out for racing:Liar:.

What's the update on the prop shaft.....hope the drill didn't take a bite and toss you 50 yards.

Top drawer......seems you will do anything to avoid that fiberglass work:).

Did Ray help you with the transmission?

Hey thanks for the pictures.

It's not the fiber glass work per-say, it's more about risk-reward. If I had cut the strut out and re-glassed it back shimmed correctly and it leaked, I would be in a real mess now wouldn't I. Pull the boat again re-do it loose half my sailing season and spend a whole bunch of money. And besides it only took me a couple of hours from start to finish.
Unfourtunatly I did not get up with Ray.

Hi PaulJ

I am new to this forum but have read with interest your posts about your new
lazy cradle installation. i have a Catalina 34 with dutchman flaking and would like to install the lazy cradle system. Do you have any opinions now that it is
on, does it work as advertised, does it make it easier single handed, how much did it cost, did the loft do a good job. Any other hints or suggestions would be appreciated. It looks very nice on your boat in the pictures.

thanks

Used the Lazycraddle twice and works great.
No more sail, reef lines and bottom batton hanging off the boom.
May have some small modifications to be made later.
My Lazycraddle is not identical as shown in video but close.
The cost was about $1800 installed.
The Sidney loft has a sample Lazycradle.

Now that I've used this Lazycradle system I wouldn't go back to the Ducthman system, not that it isn't a good system, just doesn't fit my needs.

Hi Paulj

Sounds Like A Good System I Find That The Current Dutchman System Still Requires Too Much Fussing. Are You Able To Lower The Sail From The Cockpit Or Do You Still Have To Get Up On Top To Help It Into The Cradle? You Mentioned Some Modifications, Does Something Not Work Quite Right.
Did You Have A Good Experience Dealing With The Sydney Sailloft? How Long Did The Whole Process Take? Thanks For The Info, Glad It Is Working For You.

Three more modifications............

Added a clam cleat on each side of mast for lazy jack halyard line....works faster then cleat.

Installed lazy cradle pull line on end of boom.
