lazarette latches?

Perhaps CD sells what I'm looking for, but I can't seem to find it on their site. I'd like some self-catching type latches that will prevent the lazarettes from ever flopping open in the event of a knockdown.

Some PO installed some kind of generic things that look like gate hasps, and he even installed them upside down so unless you put a padlock or something in them, they are always free to swing open at any time.

This is what keeps the aft lazarette lids positively closed on Hunters. This was mentioned a few posts back.

However, if you want to keep sticky fingers out, you'll have to stick with using the hasps.

The prior owner who placed the hatches upside down was probably thinking safety

If the latches are upside down, the hasp/clasp can't close and accidently trap an inquisitive kid (or solo do-it-yourselfer working in the compartment) if the door slams shut. This is a real issue with Catalina 30's and larger that have a sail locker you have to climb into to do repairs/replacements, etc. May not be an issue with a smaller lazarette.

This had me worried a bit as I had not considered it. I went out and slammed, shut gently, shut fast my hatch with the latch I suggested. I do not believe it will self close, you need to operate it intentionally. A good thing it would appear.
