After finding nothing in the archives, I wonder if anyone knows where I can order new latches for the companionway cover on my Hunter 212. Calling Hunter Marine is very difficult, if not impossible. They don't seem to have a parts department. These rubber latches look something like the ones that hold the hood down on my riding lawn mower. Both of mine have broken, due to cracking and splitting of the rubber. Thanks, Larry

Sliding Hatch

Larry, I'm a little confused about your inquiry. The Hunter 22 has a sliding plexiglas companionway. It does not use any form of latch to keep it in place, at least not my '82 22. Also, I've never seen any other 22's use a latch. Just slide the hatch forward and your good to go. Does your boat use a different type of companionway hatch? If possible post a picture of the latch in question. It sounds to me like this is an aftermarket part. Todd

Hatch?

I think he may be talking about the inside latches on the forward hatch. These are prone to crack in time.
