if in doubt.....

If all the advice balances out at 50% for and 50% against running it, and you are still uncertain about what to do, some service stations will dispose of it for you.

old 2cycle

I normally fill my bike for the last time of the season with two cycle mix, run it for a while, then pull it in the garage and shut the gas off and let it burn out the fuel in the bowls, shut it down and hook up a maintenance charger on the battery, come spring turn on the gas, let the bowls fill and go riding, done that ever since I moved into a 'seasonal' state, and have never had any issues from it, still riding the same old 1974 honda cb750 I started out with 20 years ago. the only parts replaced have been clutches, plugs/points, tires, brakes, and light bulbs ken

Stabilizer in the oil

I reciently found out that some air cooled 2 stroke oil ( the bottle I just bought) has the stabilizer already mixed in. I wonder if the watercooled oil has the same thing.
