Was the 27 equipped with seacocks for the head or gate valves? I heard the later, is that possible?

my 86 28.5

my 28.5 has gate valves...as a matter of fact the valve just broke in the open position a must be replace...has anyone tackled that job on the 28.5

sea valve for '83 27

My 1983 27 has the plastic sea valves.The sea valve is original and I will replace with bronze this spring.I am told the plastic sea valves willnot pass an inspection from a survey any more. Never replace a gate valve with another gate valve. Hunter should never have used gate valves but I guess they did on some boats in some years.

WHO ARE YOU KIDDING

NO HUNTER CAME WITH SEACOCKS, THEY USED GATE VALVES, IF YOU HAVE A BOAT "MOST BOATS" UNLESS CUSTOM OR EXPENSIVE PROD'S CAME WITH GATE VALVES, IF YOU FIND ONE ON A HUNTER, IT WAS REPLACED BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER.

I had to replace all the gate valves. the 2" for the sink drain came apart in my hand...fortunately the boat was out of the water!

Replaced with Ball Valves

My boat had the original gate valves when purchased two years ago. Replaced both with bronze ball valves. Recommed it highly. The gate valves have a tendancy to come apart if not cycled on regular intervals. Hunter should never have used them.
