Finished up the season with a day sail with the Admiral on Friday and then another day sail with a buddy on Saturday. Boat gets pulled this week.

On Saturday west winds kept the chop down and allowed us to make long runs up and down the bay. Winds were at 10mph with frequent spells of 15 and higher. One dock mate out at the same time reported his instruments showed gusts to 23. Definitely the strongest winds I've sailed in with reefed main and full jib. Heeling 35 degrees at times and sailing at hull speed was pretty wild.

Also found some thin water. Depth finder show 2' at one point (draft is around 2' 6") but heeling and using the OB in shallow water tilt position allowed us to power through the mud and back into deeper water.

It was such pretty day I broke out the iPhone and shot some video during some of the lulls. Tried my hand at putting it together in iMovie and posting on YouTube. Here is the link.

We had a real good season with lots of good sailing. Looking forward to next year.

Smells like...victory. :)

Here's a slow-motion video of me docking with a bit too much energy. Granted, the winds were about 120 mph...
