Last night was one of those quintessential early fall nights with light wind and cool dry air. The sun also sets much earlier so the photo ops while racing are much more fun.

This was my favorite view from last night. The race was a Jack rabbit start which means no committee boat, and all boats, cruising class, and racing class (spinnakers) start together. As always the race came down to sail trim, knowing your boat and tactics.

As you can see we were leading the majority of the racing class which included many J Boats... If my memory serves me correctly we crossed the finish line just behind two racing class boats and were the first to cross in the cruising class. We'll have to wait until all times are reported and handicaps run to know if we won..

All in all leading J Boats with chutes feels good on a cruiser that carries over 500 amp hours of batteries, water, davits and all the heavy stuff associated with cruising..:dance::dance:

This is the skipper of Peregrine!

Keeping up with the racing class leaders:

Fall is great!!

Lots of fun last night

"all the heavy stuff associated with cruising"....yeah Maine Sail, like beer!

It is so nice to just crew for a while and not be driving. Great sailing, beer and fun all with good friends just cannot be beat!

Argh

Your killiing me. I have been sick for over two weeks including pnemonia. I hit the water late this year (July) with my new boat and now have lost a good bit of the end of the season too!

I am glad you are enjoying it though :D
