Hi all,

Today we finish our winter trip up the ICW, through Norfolk, and into the York River to our summer marina. It was a good trip along the coast and our usual stops were very accommodating keeping cruisers moving along the way. Those who work on the water are more resilient to adversity and we would like to thank them all for helping us get back. Today should be a great sail on the lower Chesapeake.

Glad your Passage was without drama. Congratulations on a safe return.

Welcome back. I always enjoyed the Chesapeake in the spring to summer transition.

Congratulations on completing your ICW trip!! Curious if you will have any restrictions sailing through the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland?

I just heard that they were stopping boats in Md. and turning them back to where they came from.

The story I got at our marina (vs. a small number of news articles) is that the Maryland DNR is telling people that they can't do recreational boating. But supposedly, if you're fishing for food to feed your family, that's allowed. So maybe just do what you need to do, but have a line in the water(?)

YGTBSM  I could see applying some reasonable restrictions on what a transiting boater can or can not do but to say you cannot transit is draconian.enforcement. Glad I don't live in the PRM. Are they stopping transiting motorists at the boarder and turning them down? Imagine if every state did that for all transiting traffic (not just boats)

the People's Republic of Maryland has been a scary place for Americans for quite some time.

FWIW, A buddy of mine has been holed up in Hampton VA for the past 3 weeks waiting for MD to lift the restriction.
