One enhancement I am considering for 2015 is a new toilet bowl. The installed one is the original, and it is kinda small for me. My boat is on the hard in Maryland, and I am in FLorida, awaiting a commissioning date of late April. If any of you have had a favorable replacement, it would be great to hear from you. Also, your thoughts on manual vs. electric.

I am considering this as well. The problem with a larger toilet is that the space for the toilet is rather small and it would not solve the leg room problem. If I can find just the right size, i.e. larger but still fits in the space then I will go for it. I am going electric. Considering fresh water as I hear it smells better. The down side is that the H-34 only carries 65 gallons of water so there's that.

I replaced my manual salt water head with a Raritan Marine Elegance fresh water electric head. Highly recommended by the "Head Mistress". Pretty miserly with respect to water consumption and no more odors.

toilet upgrage...

Mark, a PO installed a Groko Model K head, which is about the same size as a home toilet. Very expensive.

I converted the water flush from using external raw water to using fresh water from an internal 3 gal Todd tank installed in the starboard cubby of the V-berth. I keep a gallon jug of fresh water in the head to facilitate the major "flush", then use the water tank to complete the bowl flush.

I once replaced the Jabsco toilet on a H40.5 with a household size toilet bowl. The footprints of the two were exactly the same and there did not have to be any adjustments made in regards to the bulkheads to make room for the hoses. It made a huge difference. No pun intended.
