Larger Head Sail on 2007 Hunter 33

Has anyone experimented with a larger head sail (Maybe a 135) on the 2007 Hunter 33. I have been wondering if I can use a larger sail as the shroud setup seems to be an issue on this boat wrt anything past a 110%.
If not a larger sail then one cut to come to the deck vs the cursing sail design.
Thanks...First year with the boat so still tweaking things.

You won't be able to, nor should you, put anything bigger than the 105-110%.
The sail plan is designed for a big main and small jib. Anything bigger would overpower you quickly and cause helming issues. The jib tracks would also be off. I looked at all the possibilities when i bought my new sails.
That being said, i did have my jib cut much lower (just above the top life line). I'm very pleased with the outcome. Here's a picture.

Yes...I like what you did. Do you have the specs on how you had the sail cut?
I have not yet had a reason/oppertunity to try the inside tracks. Any benefit to using these?

Sorry, I don't have the specs. The sailmaker rep came to my boat and took a bunch of measurements based on what i requested. Which was to have a straighter cut on the leech and the clue lower to the deck. The main consideration for the sailmaker was to maintain good angles to the track and clearence of the spreaders, which they did perfectly.
The sails are tri-radial laminates which are great. Big difference to the old dacrons.
I don't use the upper tracks either because they require using the cabin top winches which is inconvenient.
But i suspect they may provide a slight increase in pointing ability.
